Influenced by genres of all music, P-SLUV (peace/love), is on a musical odyssey that’s sailing twenty-four seven. As an electronic music producer, P-SLUV seeks to push music-making beyond the limits. (cliche, I know)
Born and raised in Los Angeles, his first ventures in working with music producers and engineers came at the age of 19 when he (a rapper then) decided to put his own album out. Although he’s inspired by everything from The Beatles to The Pharcyde to Justice, his primary influence came from hip-hop. After a few gigs at a local coffeeshop where they held open mics and performances, he turned his attention towards school and work. During this time, he started producing music and soon enough, P-SLUV was born.
Three years would pass before he decided to fully focus on building P-SLUV. After finishing college and earning his degree in Journalism with a minor in English Creative Writing, he left his job working at LAX to pursue music while making money working at 88.1 KJazz radio station. He has worked in collaboration and recorded rappers/singers and continues to do so. Through the use of various sounds, samples and techniques, upon his own work P-SLUV has been quoted saying, “I just try to make music that people will want to show their friends like ‘dude, – you gotta hear this. For real.’”
P-SLUV currently hosts his own radio show entitled PSLUVradio! every Friday 3pm PST on KBeach.org.
